About the International Conference on University Libraries
The General Directorate of Libraries and Digital Information Services (DGBSDI) of the Institutional Development Secretariat (SDI) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has organized annually ─since 2002─ the International Conference on University Libraries (ICUL), which is a key forum for promoting greater knowledge and exchange of ideas, experiences, and information among professionals in this sector regarding the construction and development of interlibrary cooperation schemes, in order to address the challenges and trends facing libraries, as well as their achievements, in the current context of higher education, research, and the promotion and dissemination of culture, focusing on strategies and initiatives for their evolution in order to optimally meet the information needs of their user communities.
The main objective of ICUL is to create a space for meeting and exchange among experts and professionals in the field of university libraries, with the aim of reflecting on current challenges, sharing innovative experiences, and proposing solutions that strengthen the role of libraries in higher education institutions.
