Yvonne Budden

Head of Scholarly Communications at The University of Warwick

Her current role as Head of Scholarly Communications, taken up in 2016, gives Yvonne oversight over the University of Warwick’s activities supporting research at all levels, including open access, repositories, research data management and publishing. In this role she also has responsibility for the Library’s technical infrastructure and development activities. In addition she serves and has served on a number of national advisory groups in the area of open research.

Yvonne has worked in academic Libraries since just after graduating university in 2002, at the universities of Nottingham and Birmingham. I joined the University of Warwick in 2009 where she has been involved in open access and the institutional repository since its first year of operation, initially as a Metadata Librarian and then as the E-Repositories Manager 2010-2013. Yvonne previously served as the Chair of the United Kingdom Council for Research Repositories (UKCoRR) the professional organisation for UK open access repository administrators and managers between 2012 and 2018.

In 2013 Yvonne took up post as Scholarly Communications Manager, working on a range of scholarly communication activities as part of the Library’s support for research, including implementation of the RCUK’s open access policy, supporting PGR students developing their publication strategies and work supporting the institution with the 2014 REF process.
